PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem that a conventional mechanical optical switch is composed of a plurality of optical components, thus the mounting of the components are complicated, a high cost is resulted in, a large insertion loss occurs because light passes through the plurality of optical elements and a reflection attenuation becomes small. SOLUTION: The shape of a prism which alters the optical path of the light is formed such that the left and the right incident and emitting boundary faces are in parallel to each other, and the upper and the lower reflection boundaries are in parallel to each other, the prism is so arranged that the incident angle of the light entering the prism does not become 0°, and the mechanical optical switch which switches the optical path of the light is realized by inserting and retracting the prism on the optical path.
