PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clinch nut having a soft and plastic recess zone and a tapped portion capable of withstanding a high load without deformation. SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing the clinch nut comprises a step for forming the recess zone 3 from an unmachined casting 1 by cold heading to form a rough part. Next, the rough part receives annealing treatment by heat, and a hole 8 is formed to have an inner screw 10 by cold heading treatment.
