PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus of high efficiency and working factor. SOLUTION: An image processor 14 comprises bus switches/local memories 141, and a memory control unit 142 controls a data path and a memory region used by the memories 141. Processor array 143 processes the image data stored in the memories 141, and stores an output result in them. The process means of the processor array 143 and parameters for processing are exchanged between a program RAM 145 and a data RAM 144. The contents of the program RAM 145 and the data RAM 144 are downloaded from a process controller 18 to a host buffer 146. If the process content or the process mode required by the system is changed, the contents of the program RAM 145 and the data RAM 144 that are referenced by the processor array 143 are updated for accommodation.
