PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner that can suppress color dropouts or ghosts by automatically detecting and correcting the optical path fluctuation of the light beam caused by the environmental changes. SOLUTION: The optical scanner is equipped with an optical systems 12-18 for making a plurality of light beams from a light source 10 linearly form image and enter the deflection surface of a deflecting means 20, a separating means 26 for separating a plurality of incident light beams deflected by the deflecting means 20 and guiding to each object to be scanned, and a reflection mirror 46 installed outside an image forming area for the purpose of reflecting the two light beams separated in the same direction by the separating means 26 to a synchronization signal detecting means 48. In addition, the optical scanner is equipped with a judging means 56 which judges an amount of optical axis deviation by the increment/decrement of the light quantity of the two light beams detected by the synchronization signal detecting means 48 and also an optical axis transfer means 54 which transfers the two light beams in the direction canceling the optical axis deviation based on the result by the judging means 56.
