PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an accurate optical element with a holder by which the volume error of the raw material of an optical element can be corrected and also errors in the shape of the holder are reduced. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the optical element with the holder 1 includes the stage of arranging holder material 10a which is cylindrical and on whose inner peripheral surface a void part is formed in a press-molding die 80, providing the optical element material 20a on the inside of the material 10a, heating the material 10a and the material 20a to their softening temperature, and press-molding the material 10a and the material 20a heated to the softening temperature respectively, thereby molding the cylindrical holder 10 from the material 10a and also molding the optical element 20 from the material 20a, whereby the optical element 20 is integrated on the inside of the holder 10 and also a part of the optical element 20 is made to project outward from the peripheral part 21 by the pressure of press-molding, and the projecting part 21a is retained in the void part 14 of the holder.
