摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine cooling device capable of improving fuel economy of an engine by efficiently circulating the cooling liquid for cooling the engine to reduce the energy to be consumed by a circulation pump. SOLUTION: This engine cooling device has a cooling liquid circulation passage 6 for circulating the cooling liquid in a jacket 2 of the engine 1 through a radiator 5 or a bypass flow passage 6b, the circulation pump 3 for circulating the cooling liquid, and a flow passage control valve 4 provided in a joint part of a radiator side flow passage 6a and the bypass flow passage 6b of the cooling liquid flow passage 6 to circulate the cooling liquid to the bypass flow passage 6b when closing and to circulate the whole or a part of the cooling liquid to the radiator side flow passage 6a when opening. The flow passage control valve 4 is opened when temperature of the cooling liquid in the upstream of the jacket 2 is the first reference temperature, and operation quantity of the circulation pump 3 is controlled so that temperature of the cooling liquid in the upstream of the jacket 2 is nearly fixed to the first reference temperature or near there.
