The invention relates to a method for increasing the surface tension of a substrate consisting of a thermoplastic polymer, whereby the surface of the substrate is fully or partially exposed to a plasma such that the surface tension is increased, and the plasma-treated surface is then brought into contact with a liquid medium in order to stabilise the increased surface tension.
