DILUENT FOR NOROVIRUS OR SAPOVIRUS SPECIMEN AND METHOD FOR DETECTING VIRUS

A diluent for a Norovirus or Sapovirus specimen which comprises an alkaline buffer solution having a pH of 9.0 to 10.0; and a method for detecting Norovirus or Sapovirus which comprises using said diluent. The method allows Norovirus or Sapovirus to be detected from a Norovirus or Sapovirus specimen such as a dejection, a vomit, a body fluid, a blood, a body tissue or a food in an easy and simple manner, without the use of a special device such as a centrifuge, with improved accuracy, and with completely removal of nonspecific factors.
