A substrate (10) including an effective region (6) constituting an array substrate and an uneffective region (7) located on the outside of the effective region is provided, and a coloring layer (24R) is formed in the effective region and the uneffective region. A conductive film is formed on the coloring layer in the effective region (6) and a plurality of pixel electrodes (26) are formed simultaneously with formation of a conductive film (26a) on the coloring layer (24R) in the uneffective region (7). The substrate (10) on which the conductive film is formed is then split along the circumferential edge (e) of the effective region (6), thus cutting out the array substrate.
