<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small type and compact language learning machine on which such harmful effects as deterioration in quality of reproduced voice and disablement of reproduction are not produced. <P>SOLUTION: The language learning machine 1 is mounted with a word ROM chip 35 in which the association table 38 between word numbers 36 and word pronunciation data 37 is stored. A word card 8 is formed with 8-digit data carrier parts 81 to 88 on which only the word numbers 36 are carried. When the word card 8 is inserted into an insertion part 16, a word pronunciation data 37 corresponding to a word number read by an optical sensor 39 is retrieved and outputted from the word ROM chip 35, and voices are output from a loudspeaker 43. Differing from the case that word voice data are carried on the word card 8, deterioration in quality of reproduced voice, disablement of reproduction, and the like do not occur. Since this machine eliminates the need for a running mechanism for reading the information carried on the word card and can do with a small word card, it can be established to make the language learning machine smaller and compact. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
