<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of an endless belt, to prevent the occurrence of uneven fixing, and to easily control the temperatures of the endless belt and respective rollers. <P>SOLUTION: The endless belt 13 is stretched around a fixing roller 11 and a heating roller 12 having a heat source and fixed tensile force is applied to the endless belt 13 by a tensile force applying spring 17. A pressure roller 14 having a heat source is arranged oppositely to the fixing roller 11. The fixing roller 11 is supported by an oscillation lever 15 and is pressed to the pressure roller 14 by a lever spring 16 via the endless belt 13. When the oscillation lever 15 is pushed up by a cam 18 and the fixing roller 11 is displaced in a direction for separating the fixing roller 11 from the pressure roller 14, the tensile force produced by the endless belt 13 is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
