<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an interesting musical sound by scanning sounding points plotted on a screen with a time line variably drawn as a function of time, and to make sounding points and a time curve visually beautiful by displaying them as well as generation of the musical sound. <P>SOLUTION: A musical sound generating terminal CL draws a time line C(t) in an arbitrary shape on a display screen representing a two-dimensional grid coordinate system GC and the time line is displaced with time (t). On this screen GC, sounding points Pm (P1 to P3) are plotted and when the time line C(t) comes into contact with a sounding point Pm, a musical sound corresponding to the sounding point Pm is generated. To displace the time line C(t) depending upon time lapse, there is a method of rotating the time line or moving the time line while sequentially changing the direction according to specified movement algorithm in addition to an illustrated method of enlarging or reducing the time line C about a reference point 0(0, 0) at a specified position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
