<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator and an outer mirror incorporating the actuator capable of suitably setting up irradiation direction of light without influencing the shape of a mirror housing, without increasing the number of the assembling processes, and without requiring applying an additional waterproof measure to the mirror housing. <P>SOLUTION: The actuator 13 mainly has an actuator housing 14 and a light-emitting means 15. The actuator housing 14 forms a light transmission means 14a on its under surface. The light-emitting means 15 is internally provided on the under side of the actuator housing 14.
