COLOR IMAGE FORMING DEVICE EQUIPPED WITH MULTIBEAM SCANNER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems with a color image forming device having a unit equipped with charging, exposing and developing means around a photosensitive body in the vicinity of an intermediate transfer body in a multiply vertically stacked state totally transferring a color toner image held on the intermediate transfer body onto a recording paper sheet by sequentially transferring the color toner image formed on the photosensitive body to the intermediate transfer body, such as the occurrence of a change due to a wavelength error of the laser beam of the exposing means and the thermal expansion of a lens and a misregistration of the color toner image formed on the photosensitive body in the main scanning direction due to a temperature difference owing to the arrangement of units. SOLUTION: The scanner has a phase shift detection means detecting a phase shift of a beam detection signal outputted from a beam detection means of an exposure means, a phase shift lookup table, a position adjusting means adjusting the printing position of a color toner image formed on a photosensitive body by referring to a misregistration and the phase shift lookup table.
