PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a HDD device from impacts such as vibrations regardless of a vehicle running or at a stop. SOLUTION: In a navigation device 1 provided with a hard disk (HDD) device 15, a main CPU 11 obtains running information (running speed and angular velocity) of a vehicle from each of a sensor part 20 and a vehicle I/F part 21, when it is judged that an impact is applied to the HDD device 15 by running based on this running information, protection control of the HDD device 15 is performed.
