PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an magneto-optical recording medium and its recording and reproducing device capable of performing a tracking control by a sample servo system and also capable of securing the flatness of a substrate surely in the magneto-optical recording medium of a magnetic domain magnification reproduction system and its recording and reproducing device. SOLUTION: In the magneto-optical recording medium which is equipped with an recording layer in which information is recorded and a reproducing layer in which after recorded magnetic domains recorded in a recording layer are transferred and the magnetic domains are magnified and from which information is read out, a mark for sample servo control in which a magnetic coupling is interrupted, which is not a conventional pit having a recessed shape or a protruded shape is used as the mark for sample servo required for tracking. As a result, the flatness of the substrate can be secured surely and inconvenience such as deterioration of optical characteristics resulting from ruggedness of the substrate is never generated.
