PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying ground water by which contaminants can easily be removed at a low cost from the ground water contaminated with boron and/or fluorine. SOLUTION: A ground water purification layer 3 is provided underground. The ground water purification layer 3 has components for removing boron and/or fluorine, and boron and/or fluorine in the ground water are removed by coming into contact with the removal components. When the contaminant is boron, the contaminant removal components are a magnesium compound and/or a zirconium compound.
