The invention relates to an exhaust gas particle filter (1) for eliminating particles contained in the exhaust gas stream of an internal combustion engine, in particular a diesel engine. The filter comprises a filter body (2) consisting of filter pockets (Fo an) that are arranged adjacent to one another, are open on the influx side and taper in a wedge shape in the longitudinal direction of the filter body (2). The front face of each filter pocket (Fo an), through which the exhaust gas (6) passes in the primary flow direction, is positioned transversally to the cross-sectional area of the filter body (2), whereby the wall sections of the filter pockets lying transversally to the filter-body cross-section run parallel to each other. The filter is characterised in that the filter pockets (Fo an) (Fg an) or (Fo ab) (Fg ab) are configured from a pliable filter material strip, whose width corresponds to the longitudinal extension of the filter body (2), whereby each wall section that forms the filter body cross-sectional area is separated from the adjacent parallel wall section by a lateral wall section that tapers in the longitudinal direction of the filter body (2). |
