Heat is delivered over a large area, by a conductive layer supplied with current. This layer comprises conductive particles with binder. Metallic strip electrodes are located on either side of the heating layer. In the new system, the flexible substrate (2) is dielectric and reflective to thermal radiation. A mechanical coating plant with levelling systems carries out the coating, in sections or continuously, over the full width. The conductive layer (1) is capable of 10-60 W/m2 thermal dissipation. It comprises graphite particles, carbon, conductive carbon black or carbon fibres, which are coated with a binder. The upper surface temperature has a limiting value of 35[deg]C.
