CULTURE SOLUTION FREE FROM COMPONENT DERIVED FROM ANIMAL, AND METHOD FOR CREATING CELL LINE BY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive culture solution free from a component derived from an animal, containing no component derived from the animal such as serum and Tryptose Phosphate Broth; and to provide a method for creating a cell line free from aberration of pathogen by differentiating a cell derived from a mammal by using the culture solution.

SOLUTION: The culture solution for the cell derived from the mammal and free from the component derived from the animal contains Eagle MEM, Bacto-Peptone and BES as a basic culture solution, and does not contain the component derived from the animal. The method for creating the cell line free from the aberration of the pathogen comprises acclimating the cell derived from the mammal to a serum-free culture liquid, carrying out the culture while gradually reducing the content of the component derived from the animal in the serum-free culture liquid, and finally carrying out the culture by using the culture solution free from the component derived from the animal. The method for creating an MDBK-NST cell involves differentiating a bovine renal epithelial cell by using the culture solution free from the component derived from the animal. The method for producing an antigen for diagnosing a disease, a vaccine or a medicine uses the cell line obtained by the creating method.
