<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly reduce a surge voltage generated by switching elements and lower ambient temperatures of smoothing capacitors for the accomplishment of lengthening of the smoothing capacitors. <P>SOLUTION: A power converter comprises: a plurality of the switching elements 2a and 2b mounted on both sides of a cooler 1; and a plurality of the smoothing capacitors 4 disposed in intermediate positions at equal distances from the switching elements mounted on both the sides of the cooler. With respect to the smoothing capacitors, in the power converter, bias in the surge voltage generated by the switching elements and bias in a ripple current due to a load connected with the power converter are eliminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
