PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crucible for a single crystal pulling apparatus and the single crystal pulling apparatus, with which it is possible to easily provide an appropriate temperature gradient. SOLUTION: The single crystal pulling apparatus 10 is equipped with a heating coil 11, the crucible 12 for the single crystal pulling apparatus, a heat insulating material 13, a heat-reflecting body 14 and a pulling shaft 15. The crucible 12 is arranged in the heating coil 11 and has a cylindrical member 16 constituting the side wall and a circular disc-like member 17 constituting the bottom part. The cylindrical member 16 and the circular disc-like member 17 are made of iridium. The circular disc-like member 17 has a thickness of≥0.5 mm, and is formed in such a manner that its outer peripheral part is projected by at least 5 mm from the peripheral surface of the cylindrical member 16.
