PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and a method thereof which eliminate a cyclic structure called a dither pattern without decreasing a processing speed. SOLUTION: The image processing method for binarizing multivalued image data has a random number generating process for generating random numbers, a process for generating dither matrices being different one by one, a storage process for storing the generated dither matrices, and a binarizing process for binarizing the data by comparing the dither matrices being different one by one which have been generated in the generating process with the multivalued image.
