PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detour guiding method during non-guidance and a navigation device executing the method, capable of searching the detour even during the non-guidance and indicating the same to a user. SOLUTION: This navigation device searches the detour for bypassing the traffic hindrance, and indicates the detour on a display to inform a user of it, in a case when the traffic hindrance such as traffic jam and controls is found on a road where a vehicle travels base on the road traffic information such as VICS from the external in a state that a guidance function is off.
