PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal air battery with low cost, using an exterior container formed by a laminate sheet, hardly causing capacity deterioration, capable of being designed in an arbitrary shape of which the production process is simple. SOLUTION: The metal air battery has a separator interposed between a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and housed in the container formed of the laminate sheet made of a composite synthesized resin film. The container is composed of a positive electrode side laminate sheet and a negative electrode side laminate sheet, at least one layer of the positive electrode side has one or more air holes, and at least one layer is a film having water repellency. Moreover, one layer out of the layers constituting the positive electrode side laminate sheet is a layer containing a substance having oxygen selective permeability, and it is preferable that a water repellent film is a fluorinated resin.
