PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a teaching method of a transfer machine hand of an automatic guided vehicle which can teach an accurate transfer position to a transfer port of a transfer machine hand in a short time without depending on human being's sensory immersion. SOLUTION: Upon teaching a transfer position to a transfer machine port 1 of a transfer machine hand H, a position detection sensor 6 which detects a target T at a prescribed distance is arranged on a transfer machine hand H side, the target T is arranged on a transfer machine port 1 side according to the transfer position, the target T is detected with the position detection sensor 6, and teaching the transfer position is performed.
