PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a carburized component such as a gear which has excellent pitting resisting strength. SOLUTION: In the carburized component such as a gear, the core part has a chemical composition comprising, by weight, 0.15 to 0.30% C, 0.25 to 1.10% Si, 0.3 to 1.20% Mn and 1.25 to 2.0% Cr, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. The content of C in the surface after vacuum carburization is 1.0 to 1.5%. In the range from the surface to 50μm, the area rate of carbides is 5 to 15%, also, the number of carbides of≤5μm is≥90% to the number of all carbides, and the depth of an intergranular oxidized layer is controlled to≤1μm.
