摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dot position measuring apparatus in a scanning optical system for accurately measuring a dot position in a scanning direction formed by scanning beams in an entire scanning region. SOLUTION: The dot position measuring apparatus comprises: an emission control section 17; a synchronization PD 13; a photosensor 18; an photosensor signal detection section 41; a light-shielding means that is arranged at the front stage of the photosensor 18 to limit incident luminous flux; a slight move stage; a position detection section 48; a data storage section 42; and an arithmetic section 43. Lighting is made for time equivalent to one dot during beam scanning, laser beams are repeatedly scanned at a dot formation position through the light-shielding means for allowing the photosensor 18 to receive light, the position of the light-shielding means is slightly moved to cross laser beams, and a position in the scanning direction of the dot formed on the surface to be scanned is measured.
