PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator for serviceably utilizing water in a tank by surely detecting a water shortage of the water supply tank. SOLUTION: This refrigerator has a magnet coupling type water supply device 17, a water shortage determining means 45 for detecting that the water supply device 17 cannot supply water by prescribed quantity, a water resupply means 43 for operating so that S10 and the water supply device 17 operate by a prescribed frequency or water supply quantity increases more than ordinary time when detecting or after detecting that water cannot be supplied by the prescribed quantity by this water shortage determining means 45, a storage means 41 for storing information such as ice making time and the temperature on automatic ice making, and a water resupply determining means 42 for determining whether or not the water resupply means 43 is operated on the basis of this storage means 41.
