PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent power source voltage from directly being impressed on a sensor element like a reed switch and also to use a sensor with a low breakdown voltage. SOLUTION: The detection switch is used with a power source and a load connected in series outside. It is provided with a reed switch 12 and a switching element 11, an impedance circuit 13 is connected between one of the terminals of the switching element 11 and a control terminal TG, and the reed switch 12 is connected between the other terminal of the switching element 11 and the control terminal TG. If the reed switch 12 is off when the power source and the load are connected, current supplied from the power source flows into the control terminal TG through the impedance circuit 13, and if the reed switch 12 is on, current to flow into the control terminal TG flows into the reed switch 12 to put the switching element 11 off.
