PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk cartridge in which a disk recording medium can be put in and put out easily. SOLUTION: This disk cartridge is provided with a cartridge main body 2 provided with a lower shell in which an opening part for disk access is formed and an upper shell 3b in which an opening part 22 for putting in and out of an optical disk 10 is formed, and an up-movement control plate 6 slidably attached to the cartridge main body 2 and controlling up-movement of the optical disk 10. The upper shell 3b is constituted such that one part of periphery in the opening part 22 is protruded to the inside of the opening part 22 and a up-movement control part 24 controlling up-movement of the optical disk 10 with the up-movement control plate 6 is formed, The up-movement control plate 6 is attached so as to be slidable in parallel between a up-movement limit position protruded to the inside of the opening part 22 and positioned at a upper part of an outer periphery part in the optical disk 10 and a up-movement permitting position apart from the upper part of the outer periphery part and at which up-movement of the optical disk 10 can be permitted.
