PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device wherein display quality is not affected even if the volume of a liquid crystal is changed. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a pair of substrates 12, the liquid crystal inserted in the inner part of an annular seal 18 between the pair of substrates and a threshold pattern 24 provided at a frame part 22 between the annular seal 18 and the a pixel display area 20 and the threshold pattern has a port 28 through which an area 26 between the annular seal and the threshold pattern and the pixel display area 20 communicate with each other.
