PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein a photon is attenuated in a metal case using ordinary aluminum (about 1 mm in thickness) to make low energy of photon (X-ray,γ-ray) difficult to be measured, when the low energy (around 20 keV) of photon is measured in a field where the photon andβ-ray exist mixedly, as to a radiation measuring instrument such as a portable dosemeter for control of individual dosage and a survey meter for environmental measurement used in a nuclear power station, facilities using radiation or an accelerator. SOLUTION: An opening part is provided in the metal case 3 in an upper part of a radiation detector 5, and a material of a low atomic number is used as a filter 4 fitted in the opening part to reduce bremsstrahlung generation caused by theβ-ray, to attenuate theβ-ray and to exhibit a low attenuation property by the low energy photon.
