PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot air type heater for freely selecting a case of spottedly sending an ion to a room and a case of sending the ion to the whole room. SOLUTION: This hot air type heater has an indoor air suction panel 5 on a back face of a body 1, a hot air blowout port 9 on a front face of the body 1, a heat source 2 and a convection fan 4 in a heating air passage 7 inside of the body 1 reaching the blowout port 9 from the suction panel 5, and is constituted so as to introduce a part of blowing air of the convection fan 4 to a cleaning air passage 10 separate from the heating air passage 7. An air outlet of the cleaning air passage 10 is opened in an upper part of the body, and an L-shaped blowout grille 11 horizontally rotatable by 360 degrees is arranged in this opening part.
