PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flap gate, functioned favorably even in the situation where waves are generated on the surface of water in a river or in the sea. SOLUTION: In this flap gate, a door body is installed between two bearings using a hinge device of a double-hinge structure through a hanging arm. A movement limit device is disposed on the downstream side of the hanging arm, thereby limiting the movable distance when the hanging arm is rocked to the downstream side. When the movable distance of the hanging arm is limited, the behavior of the door body is limited, thereby overcoming the disadvantage of the conventional flap gate using the hinge device of a double-hinge structure that it is weak to waves.
