PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device that can cope with increase of the number of occupant protection means such as a satellite sensor and an airbag. SOLUTION: A control section of the occupant protection device consists of a satellite ECU 13 and a main ECU 17. The satellite ECU 13 inputs G-signals mainly by means of communication with a plurality of satellite sensors 7-12, processes collision determination of a vehicle and receives abnormal signals from the respective satellite sensors 7-12. The main ECU 17 processes ignition current carrying mainly to a squib and abnormality diagnosis of the squib and a drive circuit. Thus, by assigning processes to be performed by the control section of the occupant protection device to two ECU's, the process loads of the respective ECU's can be reduced.
