PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication robot that communicates with a human, using voice, movement or behavior, is safer, and has high affinity. SOLUTION: The communication robot 10 includes skin 22 covering the whole body of a human body-like section 20, the skin 22 is formed by stacking urethane foam and a silicone rubber layer, and a plurality of piezo sensor sheets are distributed in the skin. Pressure detection voltage outputted from each piezo sensor sheet is converted into pressure value data by an A/D converter, and is inputted as a bit serial signal into a computer for controlling the robot by a PIC microcomputer in a daisy chain form. The computer for controlling the robot measures strength of pressure, duration of the pressure, and frequency of pressure variation, and makes the robot execute an operation corresponding to the measured parameter values.
