MAGNETIC FIELD FORMING APPARATUS AND MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic field forming apparatus excellent in mechanical rigidity while employing a U-shaped magnet supporting member, and to provide a magnetic resonance imaging system provided with such a magnetic field forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The magnetic field forming apparatus is provided with: a magnet supporting member (115) having a vertical leg and a pair of horizontal legs extending in a horizontal direction from both of the ends of the vertical leg; a pair of magnets (111 and 113) respectively supported by a pair of horizontal legs and opposing each other with an interval in a vertical direction; and the magnet supporting member is provided with a rib member (159) formed extending from the upper surface of an upper horizontal leg (151) of the pair of horizontal legs to the back face of the vertical leg (155).
