The invention relates to a communication system (1) for a logistic chain (5) for objects (35) having associated unique identifiers comprising at least one communication server (2) and a plurality of communication units (3) along said logistic chain (5), at least one of said communication units (3) being adapted to retrieve said unique identifiers from said objects (35) and to transmit said identifiers to said communication server (2) via a network (4). The at least one communication unit (3) is adapted to transmit contact data of said communication unit (3) to said communication server (2) on or after retrieving said unique identifier and said communication server (2) is adapted to provide access to at least said contact data on or after reception of at least said unique identifier. By adding such a communication system (1) to a logistic chain (5) direct personal contact with the people using or being responsible for the communication unit (3) and being physically or actually involved with the handling of the objects (35) is provided. <IMAGE>
