<p>A grinding wheel guard 20 is mounted on an angle grinder 10 by means of a clamping band 28 that is clamped against a substantially cylindrical neck 30 that surrounds the angle grinder's output shaft 16. The clamping band 28 comprises sharp projections 32 that embed into the neck 30 when the wheel guard 20 is clamped to the angle grinder 10. The clamping band 28 may be made of a steel sheet, with the projections 32 being punched tongues, and the neck made of cast aluminium left in the as-cast state.</p> |
