PURPOSE:To provide a character input device capable of arranging input characters with equal intervals by a simple operation. CONSTITUTION:In the case of equally spacing the compound words of KANJI (Chinese character) or the like, after inputting the KANA (Japanese syllabary) character string of the reading of the compound word, the number of the blank characters to be inserted between the characters are inputted. In response to the input of a conversion key, the number of the inputted blank characters is counted (a step S1). Thereafter, the input characters excluding the blank characters are converted to a specified character kind (the steps S3-S23) and written in a character candidate storage area. When an establishment key is pushed (the step S17), the counted number of the blank characters are inserted between the respective converted characters and written in an established character storage area (the step S21). |
