The ventilation air (8) for the road vehicle headlamp enters a fan (6) at the bottom of the lamp housing (2). The air leaving the fan enters a chamber (10,11) surrounding the base of the lamp (4). It flows through nozzles (12,13) above and below the lamp and flows past the lamp toward an exit (9) in front of the mirror (1) at the top of the housing.
