The directional microphone (1) has 2 membranes (5A,5B), each coupled on one side to a respective sound entry opening (9A,9B) via a respective air volume (7A,7B), the membranes acoustically coupled via a third air volume (11). An output signal of the directional microphone is generated from the oscillation of one of the membranes via a conductive layer (19A,19B) applied to the latter and a cooperating counter-electrode (13).
