PURPOSE: A terminal having a partial-exposure type display is provided to allow a user to check information outputted on a partially exposed region of a display unit without opening a terminal cover. CONSTITUTION: An opening/closing sensing circuit(32) senses whether a lower cover is opened or closed. A display unit(24) has a partially exposed region when the lower cover is in a closed state. A memory unit(36) stores partial screen data to be outputted to the exposed region of the display unit(24) and entire screen data to be outputted to the entire surface of the display unit(24). A controller(34) extracts the partial screen data from the memory unit(36) and outputs it to the exposed region of the display unit(24) if the lower cover is in the closed state, and extracts the entire screen data from the memory unit(36) and outputs it to the entire surface of the display unit(24) if the lower cover is in the opened state, according to an output signal of the opening/closing sensing circuit(32).
