Process and installation for the treatment of animal wastes

The treatment procedure for a slurry of mixed waste and water used for washing down a slatted floor (2) over a collection pit (3) in a livestock rearing building (1) consists of separating the slurry into a liquid phase and a first solid phase. The liquid phase is purified by passing it through at least one bioreactor (8) combining biological treatment and filtering to give a purified effluent and a second solid phase, with at least part of the purified effluent used with floor washing water (4). The separation of liquid and solid phases is carried out in a centrifuge (6), the bioreactor treatment includes both aerated and non-aerated stages, and the solid phases can be composted.
