VEHICLE HEAD LAMP WITH PRE-SET LIGHT DISTRIBUTION PATTERN AND SEMICONDUCTOR LIGHT EMITTING ELEMENT

PURPOSE: A vehicle head lamp and semiconductor light emitting element are provided to form a proper light emitting pattern by using a simple structure optical system. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle head lamp includes a semiconductor light emitting element(102a-102e) generating a light from a light emitting regions having a substantially linear shape, and an optical component(104). The optical component forms at least a part of a cut line to determine a boundary between bright and dark with regard to a light distribution pattern by reflecting or deflecting the light generated by the semiconductor light emitting element and projecting the shape of the light emitting region. The vehicle head lamp further includes a plurality of the semiconductor light emitting elements arranged in a row in a direction corresponding to at least a part of the cut line. The optical elements form at least a part of the cut line by projecting the shape of the light emitting region with regard to each of the semiconductor light emitting elements towards positions arranged in a row over at least a part of the cut line.
