DISK CARTRIDGE, ENABLING AN EASY IDENTIFICATION BEFORE THE ENTIRE DISK CARTRIDGE IS INSERTED INTO A DISK DRIVE DEVICE, BY FORMING AN IDENTIFYING GROOVE ON AN EXTERNAL SHELL

PURPOSE: A disk cartridge is provided to form an identifying groove for identifying different kinds of disk cartridges by being open in insertion direction for an insertion hole of at least a disk drive device, thereby taking out a disk cartridge if the inserted disk cartridge is a wrong disk cartridge. CONSTITUTION: A disk cartridge(1) comprises as follows. An external shell(2) has an opening portion(22) into which at least a disk table is inserted. An internal shell is rotatively supported inside the external shell(2). Shutter members(4) are rotatively supported on the internal shell. A disk-type recording medium is rotatively received in a receiving space formed between the internal shell and the first shell. The shutter members(4) are rotated by a rotation of the internal shell to open/close the opening portion(22) of the external shell(2). An identifying groove(17) is formed on the external shell(2) to identify different kinds of disk cartridges by being open in insertion direction for at least an insertion hole.
