摘要

PURPOSE: A video processor comprising a small gamma correction memory is provided to perform gamma correction with low power consumption and to assure a gray level of an input video signal. CONSTITUTION: A bit rate converter(11) converts M bit input video signal into N bit output video signal by keeping a gray level of the M bit input video signal. A gamma correction memory(12) maps a plurality of output gray levels where a plurality of N bit input gray levels are dispersed to a nonlinear curve complementary to a nonlinear curve where a gray level of a display device is dispersed. The memory transfers one of output gray levels when the N bit output video signal of the bit rate converter corresponds to one of N bit input gray levels.
