METHOD FOR CUTTING GLASS FOR INCREASING DIMENSIONAL PRECISION OF GLASS SUBSTRATE

PURPOSE: A method for cutting glass is provided to inhibit generation of glass chips and cracks due to the formation of scribe lines on the surface of glass, and thus to increase the dimensional precision of a glass substrate. CONSTITUTION: The method for cutting glass comprises forming scribe lines on the surface of glass, and then carrying out chemical treatment. Alternatively, the method comprises carrying out masking corresponding to a cutting pattern on the surface of glass and then carrying out chemical treatment to form slits corresponding to the cutting pattern on the surface of glass. After the chemical treatment, glass is cut by applying mechanical or thermal stress to scribe lines or slits.
