PURPOSE: A sheet transfer device and an image forming apparatus are provided to stably locate sheets by using the sheet transfer device having a position setting member that adjusts a sheet transfer position. CONSTITUTION: A sheet transfer device(10) includes a position setting member(100) that adjusts a sheet transfer position. The position setting member includes a plurality of reference planes(102a,102b,102c), transfer rollers(101a,101b,101c), a curved guide plane(103a), and a supporting member(104). The reference planes are formed in a staircase form in response to sheet sizes to control the sheet position in the direction perpendicular to the sheet transfer direction. The transfer rollers transfer sheet in a tilted manner while pressing the side of the sheet against the reference planes in response to the sheet size. The curved guide plane is provided above the reference planes to guide the sheet. The supporting member is protruded from the curved guide plane to lift the side of the sheet, opposite to the pressed side of the sheet. |
